2011 HS Players of the Week

Drew Bechtel | Junior

Beal City High School

 

Drew has been very instrumental to the Aggies the last three seasons.  Drew has been the starting catching since his freshman season.  He capped off an incredible season by being named 1st Team All-State as a Catcher.  Drew is considered to be one of the top catchers in the state and is currently being recruited by various Division 1 Colleges and Universities.  Below are Drew’s impressive stats for the 2011 season :

Tyler has been a mainstay at Bay City Western the last four seasons.  2011 has proven to be another banner year for Tyler as he was chosen the Saginaw Valley Leagues Most Valuable Player by the leagues Head Coaches.  Below are Tyler’s stats and current accolades. Great Job Big Boy !!!

Ryan Jankowski| Sophomore

Bay City John Glenn High School

 

 

Ryan has been very instrumental in helping the 25-5 Bobcats to a #5 Ranking in Division 2.

Ryan is currently hitting .473 for the season while smashing 13 doubles and 2 triples.  The sophomore left fielder has also impressed many with his patented ESPN diving catches.

Addie Loftus | Junior

Frankenmuth High School

 

Addie was on fire last week for the Lady Eagles.

At the plate she was 13 for 20 with 4 HR's, 2 Doubles, 7 BB's, and 13 RBI's.

Addie is currently hitting .406 for the season.

Josh Buchalski | Junior

Saginaw Nouvel Catholic Central

 

Josh has been on fire for the Panthers this season at the plate.  Josh is currently hitting .576 with 19 hits.  He has 6 doubles, 1 triple, 17 RBI’s, and 16 runs scored.  Josh has also been impressive on the mound with a 4-0 record.  Josh has stuck out 28 hitters in the 17 innings he has pitched.

Grant Miller | Sophomore

Bay City Western

 

Grant has been a key component for the Warriors who are currently 10-2.  Grant is currently hitting .500.  In double headers versus Midland Dow and Essexville Garber, Grant was 9 for 16 with 9 RBI’s.  Here are Grant’s statistics for the season:

Zach Olszewski | Sophomore

Zach has been very instrumental in helping the Bobcats to an early 7-2 record.

 

Zach is currently 3-0 on the mound.  Here are Zach’s impressive pitching statistics:

 

14 1/3 innings pitched, I earned run, 20 strikeouts, allowed 8 hits

 

Against Troy, Zach had the game winning RBI in helping lead the Bobcats to the Eaton Rapids Invitational Championship.
